How I almost died.

There I was, innocently playing with my cousins, and then splash! ! I found myself in a well.

Hallo hallo, Dhabiri over here what’s good?

Well, this happened a long time ago, like a reallyy long time ago but looking back all I can say is God is gooodd!! I went to my uncle’s place to “chill” and hang out with my cousins. We did the usual sand cakes, mummy and daddy, and what have you (don’t lie, we all did this at some time 🌚). Then one of my cousins suggested we go play at the back - what could possibly go wrong?

If only I had known…

My uncle didn't build his well the normal way - surrounded with ringlike concrete usually about ground level, no, he just dug a hole and did the water magic… springles imaginary pixel dust… Okay, that was sus😂.

Now back to the story, we went on playing, running around, and having the time of our little lives. So there was this black nylon at one corner of the yard, not a corner per se, more like an isolated area. We went to ask our uncle what was there, he just told us to keep off (but what do you expect? We were young and stupid😂). We wanted to explore - emi Dora the explorer…

I led the crew to the spot, and the first thing I did was jump on the nylon - lawd I was stupid asf 😭, why tf did I do that?? The next place I saw myself was a dark wet place, I shouted at the top of my voice, “Help me oooo”, “My mummy ooo”, “My daddy ooo”. I thought I was going to die. I know I said we were innocently playing turns out we weren’t, but in my defense, we were young so that means we were innocent, think abourrit.

I was seriously crying and shouting, but something peculiar was happening. I seemed to be afloat, normally I would have sunk but there was this miracle happening maybe the water was pushing me up, maybe I was holding on to the walls of the well, I don’t know, but I managed to hang on for about 2 minutes until my cousins were able to find my uncle. He came to save me, he was my knight in shining armor (why am I sounding sus?😭😂) he put out his hand to reach me, and I was able to reach him too and he dragged me out. That was a very frightening experience, my short life flashed before my eyes, I saw the light.

He was pissed, but he was glad I was alive. He kept pondering over the fact that he told us to keep off, he wanted to punish us, but that near-death experience served as enough deterrent. I went home and “chopped” more insults from my parents. I cried that night, remembering how stupid I was and the insults from my parents, omoo.

Hehe, so that story of how the world almost lost hot bwoy, almost missed out on all thiss. This remains a testimony till date, omoo God is goodd!!
